Who is CJ?
Mr. OPN
Over the course of my time in high school, I worked to develop a company called Opinionation, LLC. It is a media company based out of Chicago, IL with a purpose of creating engaging content through sports, entertainment, politics, and current events happening around the world. I started this company when I was 14 years old and I have worked to develop it during my time in media. My goal for Opinionation, LLC (OPN) is to become a mainstream media network.
Developing OPN has taught me a lot about myself. Opinionation has helped me to understand the business of media, how to run a business, what it takes to love your own work, and why it is important to understand your purpose on this earth. Through all the growing pains and hurdles that I have gone through over the last four years, the life obstacles have given me experiences that have helped me to grow. Opinionation has set me up for connections, not only in the media field, but in life. I have taken pictures for the Mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot. Opinionation is the personal photography company of Matt O’Shea, alderman of the 19th ward in Chicago. I have filmed for short films, interviews, and even been on the local news stations for the work that I have done in the city of Chicago. Through these experiences, I have learned to never doubt myself and I have expanded my idea of what I am capable of doing. As long as I keep believing in my work and putting my best foot forward each and every day, then I have realized that God will lead the way.
My passion for film and media has been the way I have connected with God. I have really been in touch with myself and my work because although I am young and far from where I want to be in this field, I have been blessed to work with some amazing people and learn a lot from the work I have been able to be a part of. Working for myself has helped me to understand the meaning of grit and perseverance. So many people have looked down on me and laughed at me because I was passionate about my work. I have been considered too serious and not fun. I have even been looked down upon because of my age. I had to realize that I couldn't allow people's opinions about me stop me from running Opinionation. Even through COVID-19, when opportunities seemed limited, I had to continue to push and talk about important topics and be a voice for my community through hard times. I got an opportunity to write an article about COVID-19 when I participated in the Howard University summer program and it opened my eyes to even bigger aspirations for my company and its work.
I want to change the world through my love of media. I want to inspire people of all ages to follow their dreams, without regard to age. Opinionation has helped me find passion, even if people don’t understand my purpose. In closing, I am grateful to understand my passion, and I am looking forward to using my gift to be a beacon of life for hope and change that is coming in the world.

Goals Statement
On June 7, 2022, I will graduate from Morgan Park High School in Chicago IL. Approaching this date, I have really spent a lot of time thinking about what I want to do with my life and I have reflected on my time at Morgan Park HS. I have learned what it means to be passionate and have a purpose. As a freshman in high school, I started a media program called MPTV(Morgan Park Television). It was created to spread positive content about our school community through videography, photography, live streams, and broadcasting. I created this program because I saw a need for positivity at our school. As I reflect, I realized that the program has turned into more than one common goal to be a service to our school that we love, but it has become a family. MPTV has taught me sacrifice, leadership, media skills, preparation, dedication, organization skills and school spirit. When the program started, I was the only student that was a part of the program. I attended as many events, games, and performances as possible with my camera always in hand. Now MPTV has a studio at Morgan Park and fifteen dedicated students in the program. Even through the challenges of getting the program off the ground, I realized the life lessons that it taught me. I could not have done it without the help of administrators and the students that have joined the program. We have all grown as a result of MPTV. Without a doubt, MPTV has been one of the greatest experiences of my life and I am super appreciative of the opportunities that it has given me. MPTV has helped me to develop a true passion for media as well as helping and entertaining others.
I have served as a high achieving student in my academic career. During my freshman year I was ranked in the top ten in a class of three hundred and twenty three students.. In my sophomore year I was ranked twelfth in my class. In my junior year I was ranked thirteen in my junior class. I am currently still thirteen in the class of 2022. Through high school, I wanted to make sure that I was focused on my academics and studies. I looked for many opportunities to grow in my pursuit of happiness in my education. I took many college level classes and was also selected for the University of Chicago’s Collegiate Scholars Program. This program only selects 50 sophomore students each year for the program. I have a passion for learning and growing and my education is important to my success as an African American man in society. I strive to be the best version of myself in my educational career and this is what is urging me to take my journey into college and life. I am extremely grateful to be accepted into several colleges as a mass communications major as well as a cinema television major. My goals for the next four years of my academic career is to first graduate from a HBCU with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. I pride myself on giving my academics one hundred percent of my effort. As a University of Chicago Collegiate Scholar, I finished the program with all A’s and B’s. This is what led me to believe that I can continue my path of high achievement as a college student. Secondly, I plan to be involved on campus in many organizations using my leadership skills, media knowledge, and giving spirit to have a full experience of college.
Furthermore, I will continue to grow Opinionation LLC which is a media company created by myself to impact society in a special way using my platform and my love of media. My goal is to make Opinionation a global network and to use my platform to inspire and entertain others through media. I will achieve my goals by focusing on what is important to me and allowing God to use me as a beacon of faith and hope for others. God has blessed me and I want to continue to give back to him and his people through my art of media and my life in general.

Creator
I don't like to title myself as a video creator or a photographer, or a broadcaster. I have a variety of skills and my media company, Opinionation has so many different avenues to it. I am a creator.
